What is the difference between STAINLESS STEEL PLATE 316 AND 316L?
Stainless steel plates 316 and 316L are both popular grades of stainless steel that contain molybdenum, which provides enhanced corrosion resistance compared to other stainless steel alloys. While they are similar in many respects, there is one key difference between the two:Carbon Content.
Stainless steel 316 contains a higher carbon content, typically around 0.08%.Stainless steel 316L is a low-carbon version of 316, with a maximum carbon content of 0.03%.
